About

About PPM Execution:

PPM Execution is a portfolio management blog for sharing current thoughts about project portfolio management. This portfolio management blog also gives me the opportunity to share  articles and white papers which contain great information and provide business management tools. There are very few websites designed for portfolio management practitioners and my intention is to fill a gap on the web.

About Tim Washington:

  1. Well done Tim, and excellent site!
This is interesting and important topic as well. So many organisations, with the very best of intentions, create Project Overload and this then becomes Corporate “Initiativitis”. It is like adding a couple of spoons of sand to the engine oil! It just clogs up the engine of business growth.
I have a background in Project / Programme management, Change Management as well as Lean as a Business System. I would argue that every enterprise needs to develop its own Business Operating and Development System, or BODS as I call it! This overall BODS has to be able to manage and balance the business change agenda, for both Continuous Improvement and Breakthrough Change. Within Lean it is the Policy Deployment process that drives engagement of all business associates in the process of aligning Strategic Execution with Lean based Operational Excellence.

  2. Such a useful blog, Tim! I’m a last-year student, interesting about PPM. I will be making my undergrad thesis in Prioritization in Government sector. Thanks for some knowledge you’ve shared! I think, I wanna have some discussion with you sometime, if it’s doesn’t matter to you.

  3. Project Portfolio Management is about more than running multiple projects. Each portfolio of projects needs to be assessed on its business value and adherence

  4. This site is a great resource. As you say, Project Portfolio Management is a little under-represented in comparison to programme and project management, so it is great to have access to this content.
It has been helpful to solidify some of the ways of working I have implemented in my organisation to get a sense check of being on the right lines (when sometimes it doesn’t feel like it!) as well as giving plenty of learning and ideas for improvements in the future. Keep it going!
